Germany’s GeigerCars Will Unofficially Import Ford Mustang GT350 And GT350R

Geiger Cars from Germany specializes in importing (and customizing) American cars that aren’t available in Europe, from brands usually exclusively reserved for US buyers. Their most recent addition to the vehicle inventory is Ford’s new Mustang, although it’s not the standard one that’s already being officially imported, but the very tasty Shelby GT350 and GT350R variants.

These two versions, with the R being the more aggressive of the two, are very different to any other Mustang you can buy today – they look quite different, have a unique engine and feature a generally more track-focused mindset.

Both Shelby models feature a 5.2-liter V8 that is dramatically different to the 5.0-liter unit you get in the Mustang GT. It’s a technological achievement for Ford as it’s the most poweful and power-dense naturally aspirated engine it’s ever produced.

It packs 526 hp at 7,500 rpm yet it redlines even higher, at 8,250 rpm (thanks to a not-so-Ford-like flat-plane crankshaft). This, in combination with the stiffer springs, bigger brakes and exterior visual treatment make these two new Shelbys highly attractive, even in Europe.

The gearbox is a six-speed manual from Tremec, and yes, there is an obligatory limited-slip diff to help put the power down.

The unofficial importer will charge a premium, though, for bringing them in; in the US, a base GT350 kicks off at $47,795 excluding destination charges, while the even spicier 350R starts from $61,295.

Geiger Cars plans to sell you a brand new GT350 for €82,900, which equates to just over $90,000.
