A hybrid version is also planned

As Ford is looking at ways to expand its range and implement modern technologies in the process, a full-electric F-Series truck is expected to debut in the near future.

According to Detroit Free Press, Jim Farley, Ford President of Global Markets said in a conference in Detroit that “We [Ford] are going to be electrifying the F-Series – battery electric and hybrid.”

The official went on and mentioned that “a move toward all-electric and hybrid would futureproof the billion-dollar F-Series franchise.” He also calls it a “global juggernaut,” according to the same source.

Previously, Ford hinted at plans of coming up with a hybrid F-Series model, but a pure-electric model is a new and enticing possibility, that is if “battery electric” means what we think it means – a powertrain that uses a battery pack and at least one electric motor to power a specific vehicle.

In any case, the news shouldn’t be that surprising, since Ford is also working on an all-electric crossover and is looking to collaborate with VW on the matter of EV development.

With not much to report on the topic so far, all we can do is wait and see how this pans out. But yeah, exciting times lie ahead.
