The Alpine A110 is incredibly fast in Stig’s hands on the Top Gear track

Alpine A110 Stig

When it doesn’t catch fire, the A110 is a proper sports car

If Chris Harris and Eddie Jordan had to run for their lives to escape a burning A110 in a hill climb competition, the Stig had no problems to be extremely fast around the Top Gear track

If you bought a Ferrari F430, then you're in for a surprise: the Alpine A110 is as fast as your expensive supercar on Top Gear's track! Yes, at 1:22.9, it's slower than its main competitor, the Porsche 718 Cayman (1:21.6) but much faster than the Alfa Romeo 4C (1:24.8). If the preproduction car caught fire, the one sent by Renault to replace it on the track had absolutely no problems in Stig's hands, as you can see in the video below.

Of course, the Alpine already has received raving reviews from a lot of motoring outlets, some even saying it's as good as the Cayman. We didn't test the A110 yet, but you can always read our review of the Cayman S and 718 Cayman GTS to make you an idea about the best sports cars in the world today.

Sadly, the Top Gear track is destined to be bulldozed soon to make place for a building project, so the Alpine A110 might very well be the last car to be tested on this track, as the season 25 wrapped up with it. It remains to be seen where the Stig and others will return for the 26th season. How did you like the 25th, by the way?
