SsangYong Updates, Prices 2016 Musso Pickup in the UK

The vehicle is actually the Actyon Sport (pickup) but with a revived name from a now-defunct model

What SsangYong calls the Musso in the UK is really the (thankfully) facelifted Actyon pickup with some additional updates. The model debuted in 2006 in pickup form (the regular five-door came one year earlier) and now for 2016 it’s been refreshed with the addition of a new diesel engine.

The 2.2-liter unit is Euro 6 emissions standard-compliant, it bestows the vehicle with a 3-ton maximum towing capacity and comes with a 5-year warranty – maximum capacity for the bed is a decent 1 ton, and the manufacturer says the new Musso offers a car-like ride no matter the load. The engine has 178 PS and 400 Nm, with the latter being maintained from 1,400 to 2,800 rpm.

Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK said they “decided to reintroduce the Musso name to differentiate this superb utility truck from our passenger cars. Musso – which means rhinoceros in Korean – is a tough, robust proposition for any trade, and with a specification, price and warranty no others can compete with.”

If you want one of these in the UK, SsangYong will ask for at least 17,995 of your pounds sterling sans VAT.
