SsangYong Shows LIV-2 SUV Concept Ahead of Paris Debut

It’s an incrementally-improved version of the LIV-1 that debuted back in 2013

SsangYong has been showing incrementally updated versions of the upcoming Rexton replacement in motor show study form. Now called LIV-2, the latest incarnation of the concept is set to debut at the Paris motor show, and according to the manufacturer it’s the final interpretation before moving to production.

The Rexton-replacing model expected to mostly mirror this concept is currently called Y400 and it’s set to be launched sometime in 2017.

The LIV-2 concept is powered by a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine, developed in-house by SsangYong itself. There will also be a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline unit on offer as well, another unit created by the company for its upcoming new models.

The design philosophy for the concept and future production model is summed up by the “Dignified Motion” motto, and we’re happy to report is far-far less unattractive than SsangYongs of old.
