It’s a gloriously tail-happy machine

Renault is rolling out the new 2018 Alpine A110 sports car and we can’t wait to get our hands on one, especially after seeing this video of it being hooned around a track in low grip conditions.

The A110 is promised to be huge fun to thread around a twisty road, with its mid-mounted 1.8-liter turbo engine and playful rear-wheel drive chassis.

It looks like it’s going to be all about the handling with this sporty Alpine, as skilled drivers will be able to whip its tail out then wring it back in check with relative ease. In this video by L’argus, the car seems just so progressive and easy to catch when it slides out – it makes us edgy in our seat with anticipation.

The steering also looks like it’s super sharp and precise and driving the car quickly around a track with no electronic aids looks like fun and not a chore – it looks like it’s been designed with a tail-out character in mind.
