The cheap MG3 will compete in the supermini market
MG Motor UK introduces the new MG3, an affordable supermini that tries to revive the British brand in the UK
The new MG3 was not quite loved in the UK, with only 10,000 units sold in the last four years; the new MG3 tries to bring back sales, completing the brand's offering in the UK.
Buyers can choose between three different versions: the entry grade ‘Explore’, mid-grade ‘Excite’ and the ‘Exclusive’ as the top of the range. All versions come with Bluetooth as standard, while ‘Excite’ and ‘Exclusive’ versions have an 8” colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™, DAB radio and steering wheel audio controls. The ‘Exclusive’ version adds a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, completing an exceptional value-for-money package.
The entry level Explore starts at £9,495, while the Excite and Exclusive versions cost £11,395 and £12,795 respectively. The new MG3 is also available on a 5-year, 0% APR finance package with no deposit required from the customer. Apart from the affordable prices, MG has extended its 7 year/80,000-miles warranty – it's fully transferable to future owners!
According to MG, the new MG3 has one of the roomiest cabins in the supermini segment, with class-leading head and leg room for five adults to ride in comfort. The boot space is also above the segment's average offerings: 285 litres of capacity.
