Mercedes-AMG prepares a cracking send off for its power-luxo-barge
After the AMG G 65, Affalterbach will also discontinue the AMG S 65, but not before presenting the Final Edition in Geneva.
Rich people everywhere, this could be your last chance to own an AMG-badged V12, so read carefully.
First of all, the Mercedes-AMG S 65 will only see 130 units built. Each of them features the all-black-everything treatment for the body work and copper-accent, 20-inch wheels.
The standard gear list looks more like the optional features list, but we reckon that won’t upset anyone. You get black nappa leather on the inside, carbon fiber inserts, copper stitching, the Magic Sky Control panoramic roof, First Class rear suite and the Warmth package.
Still, the car’s centerpiece remains the V12 unit which outputs 630 hp and 1,000 Nm of twist available from 2,300 rpm.
With this sort of firepower, the 2.2-ton limo needs just 4.1 seconds to blast from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph). Top speed is 300 km/h (186 mph).
No word on pricing yet, although we expect a sticker that’s well north of €250,000.
