Ford Mustangs don’t come any more extreme and fast than Shelby American’s Super Snake now available based on the restyled Mustang. It promises to sprint to sixty in 3.5 seconds and also deliver a look that’s far more aggressive than any factory ‘Stang, especially if you opt for the striking body kit.
The “base” Super Snake uses a Ford Performance supercharger to extract 710 hp from its 5.0-liter V8 engine, but optionally Shelby American will use a bigger Whipple blower to extract 800 hp from the unit.
Standard features include custom uprated engine cooling (and transmission cooling for cars with an automatic gearbox), short throw shifter, performance half shafts, 20-inch forged wheels, a “Shelby by Brembo” braking system with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the back, as well as Ford Performance wheel studs, track handling pack and exhaust.
All of it is covered by a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty and can be yours from $113,445 which includes the price of a new V8 Mustang. The company promises the car is “collectible from the day it’s built,” and that it will get its own CSM number, as well as being included in the Official Shelby Registry.
