Sportiness is the new black
Granite Crystal aluminum wheels, Granite Crystal accents, distinctive black styling cues and a black interior treatment including SRT leather seats, these are the highlights for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee S special edition
Jeep Grand Cherokee already has an extreme sporty version, the Trackhawk. But if you want just „sportiness” and lots of cool design and features, the S special edition is better for you.
At the outside, the S has Low Gloss Granite Crystal accents on badging, grille bezels, step pad, and tail lamps, and comes with 20-inch wheels. At the front, it has a Gloss Black grille that enhances its aggressiveness, while at the back, there's a dual exhaust with Black Chrome finish. Inside, you'll find anodized gunmetal accents, black wood finishes, and black instrument panel accent stitching, as well as Mopar bright metal pedals and black Nappa SRT-like perforated leather seats with black accent stitching.
It's not just the looks, though. You also get a sports suspension that goes very well with the 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 352 hp petrol engine. You can also choose the less powerful 3.0-litre Multijet II 250 hp or the 3.6-litre V6 with 286 hp, but it would be a shame. Of course, you also get the Quadra-Drive II, Jeep's full-time four-wheel drive system featuring a rear electronic limited-slip differential, and all its off-road and on-road specific driving modes.
This special edition also features, among others, the latest version of the UconnectTM 8.4-inch touchscreen radio that incorporates Apple CarPlay and is compatible with Android Auto. You also get a 7-inch customer configurable multiview display cluster, a 506w subwoofer Alpine audio system with standard active noise cancellation, a panoramic dual-pane sunroof, a leather covered steering wheel, heated and ventilated front and heated rear seats and dual-zone climate control.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee S also comes with lots of safety features as standard: Forward Collision Warning; LaneSense Departure Warning with Lane keep Assist; Adaptive cruise control with Stop; and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection. Buyers also get advanced systems to ease parking, including when towing a trailer.
No word on the pricing yet, but as it has all the bells and whistles Jeep could put on its Grand Cherokee, expect to pay accordingly.
