Fiat 500 has received a new special drop-top edition that celebrates sixty years since the launch of the cute seaside runabout called the 1958 500 Jolly Spiaggina. The new one is dubbed 500 Spiaggina ’58 and its name in Italian refers to a type of open top vehicle destined to be used in and around tourist areas in order to move around and also soak in the sun.

The model is based on the 500C but comes “with ultra-chic design touches and a lavish standard outfit.” By that they mean the exterior paint finish color is carried over inside; it also gets special chromed Spiaggina script on the rear and special vintage-inspired hubcaps.

Equipment levels are also high on this version which gets the Uconnect 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, climate control and it can be had with either a 1.2-liter 69 hp engine or the 0.9-liter TwinAir with 85 hp both of which comply with the latest Euro6D emissions rating. Just 1,958 examples are being made and if you want to make yours look like the one in these photos, you'll have to ask Garage Italia to make one for you – the vehicle in these shots is actually just a show car and while you can have it modified to look similar to this, what Fiat is essentially selling is a light blue 500C.
