It’s the battle of the Lilliputians
There’s no denying that Europeans have a thing for hot hatches. And for good reason. They’re quick, nimble, and somewhat affordable. But can they drag race?
Trying to answer this question are Tiff Needell, Ryan Cullen and Paul Woodman in the latest episode featured on Lovecars.
Their weapons of choice? The crème de la crème in the supermini-based warm hatch segment: Ford Fiesta ST, Toyota Yaris GRMN and the Polo GTI.
Just so you know, the video starts off with a road test of the three contestants, so if you’d rather ignore that and jump straight to the drag racing bit, it’s minute 12:00 you’ll want to skip to.
Before you do that, though, keep in mind that the VW Polo GTI uses a DSG dual-clutch transmission, while the Ford Fiesta ST and Toyota Yaris GRMN rely on six-speed manuals.
